Kalamandalam Supriya Sudhakar

Education

• Kalamandalam Supriya Sudhakar is a professional classical dancer specialized in Bharathanatyam and Mohiniyattam dance forms. ​

• She did her Guru-Kula Sampradaaya based dance education from Kerala Kalamandalam and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mohiniyattam and Bharathanatyam.

• She is a first rank holder of Masters in Bharathanatyam from Madras University.

Extensive Training, Mentorship and Performances

• During her learning journey, she has been blessed to be a part of various dance workshops conducted by renowned artists in India including Dr. Padma Subramanyam, Dr. Kanak Rele, Kalamandalam Leelamma, Dr. Lakshmy Ramaswamy, Kalamandalam Kshemavathy, Swapna Sundari, Roja Kannan, Priya Murle, Dr.Neena Prasad, Dr.Methil Devika etc.

• She has performed Bharathanatyam and Mohiniyattam in various prestigious stages and festivals. To name a few:

  • Performed in various prestigious sabhas (such as Narada Gana Sabha, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Krishna Gana Sabha, Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha, Brahma Gana Sabha) and festivals (including International film festival of Kerala, Nishagandhi festival, Soorya festival, Mudra festival, Chennai Marghazi festival).

  • Performed at the inauguration ceremony of Commonwealth Games 2010 - New Delhi, India under the guidance of "Padmashri" Bharati Shivaji

  • Performed Mohiniyattam dance as a part of Guinness World Record Dance Performance in Kochi, Kerala.

  • Performed in various Bharathanatyam dance productions in India and USA such as “Puranaanooru”, “Guru”, “Sundarakaandam” dance productions in Chennai, under the guidance of Kalimamani Dr. Lakshmi Ramaswamy, and Shivananda Lahari” - under the guidance of Dr. Srimathy Mohan, senior disciple of Dr. Sudharani Raghupathy (Silambam, Phoenix), and “Vanaraleela” under the guidance of Smt. Mythili Kumar (Abhinaya Dance Company, San Jose)

  • “Theaterical Productions” under the guidance of Smt. Aparna and Sri. Anil Natyaveda (Navarasa Dance Company, California)

Currently, she lives in Bay area, California and has been running her dance school, KRIPA, since 2022.
