About KRIPA

Kala Roopa Institute of Performing Arts

KRIPA, established in 2022 by Guru Smt. Kalamandalam Supriya Sudhakar, is a dance school located in the San Francisco Bay Area, dedicated to the preservation and propagation of the rich cultural heritage of Indian classical dance. We offer passionate training in two beautiful Indian classical dance forms:

• Bharathanatyam: This ancient dance form, originating from Tamil Nadu, is a powerful blend of rhythm, expression, and storytelling. Students learn the intricate Nritta (pure dance), Nrithya (dance + expressions), and Natya that define this vibrant art.

• Mohiniyattam: Hailing from Kerala, Mohiniyattam is known for its graceful, swaying movements and its emphasis on lasya (feminine grace). Students explore the lyrical beauty and emotional depth of this captivating dance form.
